After falling off my bike I haven’t been out much (except for work) and my camera has mostly stayed in its bag. But I’ve been back in the saddle for a couple of days now and yesterday on my way from the dentist (only a check-up) I made a detour and I came across this meadow with about 200 geese – being fattened up for St Martin’s and Christmas … thinking about it like this is kind of depressing.

It is indeed. You are the first person to mention Christmas … not a record to be proud of 😉

There have been Christmas reminders in stores for a couple of weeks here. So I’m not first. But re: the geese. You have to start thinking about them in spring, otherwise no geese on 11 November or Christmas. 🙂

Fair point. I thought the Germans had more sense than to start Christmas so early in the shops? It’s the English, I thought, who start so precipitously early.

Naw – Germans are just as crazy. At least, the marketing people.

Geese butts for the last photo made me smile Elke 🙂 I didn’t know you had a fall. Hope you are OK. Thanks for joining in x

I didn’t know either. My elbow, thumb and cracked helmet say otherwise, though. I think it’s called short term amnesia. — But I’m okay again. Thanks.
