At the end of the day, I spotted this hare sitting laid-back yet with non-laid-back ears in a field near the baulk.

Then something startled it. It turned and fled. Gathering speed it doubled back and

next thing it was running at full pelt leaving me with barely a blurred photo.
Liked to the Ragtag Daily Prompt: Pelt.
Interesting account. Now I have to check pelt in the dictionary; “full pelt” is a new one for me.

When I can’t find a photo to go with my first idea (in this case, pelt = animal fur) I reach for a dictionary. I found a rather lovely Irish expression: in one’s pelt = naked. 🙂 But I’m not sure whether that wouldn’t violate any wordpress rules …

Well, the dictionary says, “In a hurry” or “to rush.” British use — maybe why I haven’t heard it. We’d say, “going full tilt.”
