I hope the Finnish in the title is correct. A small explanation concerning this collage might be due. Our running group has a few Finnish runners and some others have lived in Finland, so each year around 6 December we usually had a special Finnish run. And since it is also the time of Christmas markets we found the same one each year, had some Glühwein or even Swedish glogg and then someone brought out a bottle of Salmiakki and the fun really started. The Salmiakki was traditionally bought at the Finnkiosk in Frankfurt. We ended up singing bawdy songs and we all sang one really rude one (I’m told) to the melody of “Oh, Christmas tree” in Finnish.
This year – well, not so much. And although I can go without Salmiakki for a year, I miss my friends.

That Salmiakki is my favorite drink of snaps ❤ And usually it's turning out quite fun with that drink 😀 Sounds indeed like a Finnish run!
Hope you get to meet your friends next December!

Could not get more Finnish! I loved your comment and the story with it! I have lived in Frankfurt, how come I did not meet you? I know I’m 50 years older LOL

Did you never go to the Finnish “Stammtisch”? If you did I’m sure we have friends in common. (and I’m no spring chicken either 😉 )

No, I did not know about it. This was way back late 60’s 🙂 But if it still exists and I’m in FRA…
