And then it showed me its wings in all their glory.

Possibly – in German it’s both the same, more or less, written with a v but no e: Motiv. So you see why I am confused more than usual.

I hope you didn’t mind my mentioning it. I used to get s irritated when our French wasn’t corrected. How can you get – even – better if you don’t know there’s anything wrong?

No, I didn’t mind at all. You are right: mistakes are there to be learned from. Mistakes like “motive/motif” I am aware of the moment someone mentions it – it’s a facepalm moment. 😊
