In fairness, I know the young man and at the time he phoned the mum of the baby to tell her where she could find them in the park 🙂 but I agree: taken on face value it seems like the phone is taking priority.
Your response to Debbie took away my comment somewhat. I’m glad to know that he was only using the phone for a moment and enjoying the walk and nature (and the baby) the rest of the time.
It’s not the best strategy. A friend of mine arrived in a town, strange to her, and looked on the map on her phone and promptly walked into a lamp post. Ouch!
