Clerical Gold

Church buildings regularly have gold details. Often the clocks are gilded.

And the steeple tops reflect the sunlight in glorious gold.

But the Russian Orthodox Church of Saint Elizabeth in Wiesbaden is by far the most golden church I have ever seen:

    1. It’s something, isn’t it? Russian-orthodox seem to like shiny, particularly gold. When the Olympics were in Munich the building were far out of the city and the little chapel of Russian-orthodox hermit was discovered. He had lined the complete room with silver chocolate tinfoil. They left it intact and it built around it.
