I’m well versed in children’s literature, but I haven’t a clue what you’re talking about. But it looks like Gumdrop to me (by Val Biro).

Donald Duck’s great-aunt. She appeared in the cartoons. Gumdrop seems a bit more rugged and slightly younger (as Mathilda’s car, not Mathilda herself, of course). 😀 Having said that, I have a very vivid image of her as a good-humoured, lovable old biddy in her (very) vintage car – but I couldn’t find a picture of her like that, not even with duckduckgo.
