I’ve been saying this for a few years now – and every time we have another weekend with our running friends we sign up – and I end up on the top bunk. And getting up is still comparatively easy, it’s the coming down in the morning that challenge.
I have to face it: that’s the situation in youth hostels. Before somebody asks: It was worth it, though!
Oh yes, way to old. 😀

Can’t you put on your best teacher’s voice and tell them that the bottom bunk is yours?

We were 3 in the room. One was my husband (older than me and with an artificial knee). The other one was somebody known as Long Shanks – the beds were 2m, he was more than that. I couldn’t have lived with the guilt!

Well done you, but time you spoke up and said it’s someone else’s turn!

See my answer to Margaret. Amongst the blind,m the one-eyed man is king or queen in this case, or rather turkey. Maybe I should consider a young and spruce (and short!) toy-boy.
