“And now, We Make the Trip Every Year”

“One cannot resist the lure of Africa.”

said one stork to the others, quoting Rudyard Kipling.

So, off he flew.

to Africa

and then he came back and quoted Ibn Battuta:

“Travelling – it leaves you speechless, then it turns you into a storyteller.”

    1. Thank you. I find the behaviour of migratory birds fascinating. Some storks make it to South Africa! Almost 10,000 km. Some to West Africa, still 3,500 km. Or they spend the winter in Spain, still 1,000km one way. And most return!

      1. I even enjoy my migratory birds that just travel within Australia. So appear each season and some years seem to find elsewhere more appealing than my place.

  1. I’m speechless that you could get such great pictures of birds sitting up there having a nice chat. I wonder what they were talking about. Probably their latest flight and the wonderful trip they had! LOL Thanks for sharing this week, Elke. 🙂
