What Were They Thinking?

Several thoughts come to mind:

Why does his mohawk not look like the hairdo of a native American tribe but like a sick cockatoo?

Why do we call a mohawk in German an iroquois?

But most of all: Why did his parents let him go to school on the first day ever looking like that?

    1. Fair enough. To be honest, I was in two minds about the haircut of this little boy. First reaction: Why??! Second thought: There might be a story … Then I saw the parents. And … well, I wondered a bit. But – to make that perfectly clear: I didn’t say anything, to anyone, least at all to our grandson. And being a grandmother who lived a bit further afield I never met the boy again (I might have but might not have recognised him).

      1. I am certain that some of the parents did NOT approve of my son’s haircut. Possibly some of the other kids, too. But it achieved what he needed and wanted right then, which was to be seen and known in the class.

      2. 👍🏽 It just goes to show that there is always a different side to a situation. That’s why I try not to judge (even if it means biting my tongue to shreds, occasionally 😉 ).

    1. I know. My kids went to a British school for a couple of years. One holiday we came back with their hair slightly bleached and they ended up having hair shorter than a buzz cut.
