We’ve had a few glorious days this week. Blue skies, no clouds. And I was reading Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver with our grandson. And Luke says that on the day he wants to meet the Emperor of Mandala. And a blue sky like that is often called Kaiserwetter (although Kaiser means emperor I think a fit translation would be “royal weather”).

Yesterday it was playbook April weather: bright sunshine followed by dark clouds and suddenly drizzle that turned to sleet. The temperature dropped, the clouds disappeared, the temperature rose and a quick shower followed. April in February!
