That’s why my mother was so furious. We had moved in a new house and the neighbour girl, a year older than I am, came around to play. She coughed a bit. And when my mother mentioned it, she said: “Yeah, I have whooping cough.” That’s how I got infected. But of course, I don’t remember any of this.

It’s not that bad 😃 My grandfather used to carry me up pn his shoulders for 6 weeks when I was three-years-old and had whooping cough.

Whooping cough could be fatal back in the late 50’s.

My cousin came in our house with it…my mum and dad weren’t pleased, to say the least..as my parents had been trying for over 9 years.
