I Remember Bren

This was going to be my Floral Friday contribution today.

A few weeks ago Bren wrote in an answer to me:

“Tulips have a special place in my heart, not only do they come in various colors and sizes, but they also symbolize love and rebirth.”

And then Hamad published on his blog In Memoriam – Bren Brashley the news that she had passed. He also pointed me to Losing a blogging friend and remembering Bren.

I’ve noticed Bren’s photos and contributions long before I started contributing to her challenge Floral Friday almost to the day two years ago, and then this January I also joined in often on Midweek Monochrome. I adored her flower photos and I learned much from her about showcasing flowers and blooms.

As a tribute to Bren, here are some of my flowers which I think show best where she influenced me:

For Floral Friday and Bren.

  1. Sorry. I was rather punched in the gut by the news, as I guess we all were, and didn’t read your post properly. I hope we can think of a way of making sure the many tributes from bloggers are seen by the family.

    1. Since Aletta (from nowathome) seems to have seen the message on facebook I searched there and found 2 sites related (Jeanne Cole whose blog I linked above) as well somebody I don’t know. As a stranger I would not like to approach Bren’s family but maybe Aletta was linked with her on facebook and can mention it to them? I also linked my post to “Floral Friday” and maybe the family can see it there if they are directed there?

      1. Good idea, Elke. I linked back to both Bren’s blogs in hopes that the family would maybe look there one day. They’ve got a lot to get used to at the moment.
