None of us is happy with our allocated summer this year.

I am quite happy. It was very hot (my garden objected to the dry spell, personally I didn’t). Then it was wet. Then it was hot and humid (and I was away). As of today it has cooled down enough for my husband to wear a long tracksuit but I won’t succumb!

Where we were in Cyprus it was either that or modern, newly built. Hardly anything in between.

An old charmer. And I bet it worked. With those thick stone and brick walls the darkened houses stayed comfortable – I remember well from my early days. Our temperature here yesterday was 35 C – looking forward to the cooling spell the hurricane that is bearing down at us will bring.

Saturday we still had 30+, yesterday it had cooled down to the mid 20s, and today it is down to 16 °C!!
