      1. No, on the contrary. In winter, there are none. Then they arrive in early spring, raise a family, and depart in early autumn to spend the winter in Spain, North Africa and some have been known to travel all the way to Africa. When I was little a stork in our area was not too common but in the last few years they have multiplied.

      2. I grew up in Germany and when I was 20 I met a (German) guy who worked in South Africa at the time. 6 weeks later we were married – the stupid things one does when young! 44 years later I know that I would have never had the same courage five years later.

      3. It wasn’t quite voluntary. I needed to convert my tourist visa in a permanent residence if I wanted to continue my studies in South Africa and marrying was the easiest way to do it. Very pragmatic and non-romantic.
