Have a Guess

What building could have these dour, uniform windows? What could be so rectangular and devoid of any decoration and – dare I say it – charm?

Be careful, though, while you’re thinking somebody might be watching you.

And then you realise: it’s the BKA, the Bundeskriminalamt, the Federal Criminal Police Office, in other words: the German equivalent of the FBI.

    1. There was nobody. We half expected it but – nothing. Around the corner from there is the Villa von Schertel, the official residence of the Prime Minister of the State of Hesse, and except for a no-stopping sign in front of the wall (a normal wall, not particularly high) on the street side there was no obvious security. One could see the villa between the trees, with a German and a Hesse flag in front of the main building but otherwise it looked nothing out of the ordinary compared to the other houses / villas in the (admittedly very affluent) area. I was really surprised how low-key it all was.
