House Leek

When I think of succulents my mind turns towards exotic plants like cacti and particularly the succulents found in the South African Karoo (apparently one third of all succulents species). But – the common house leek found on any old roof around here and on walls and the like is a succulent, too.

    1. Just their name in German “wurz” sounds weird (to me). It’s half a “root” (Wurzel) and it grows in (or on?) houses. I just feel the word would be suited to a much bigger plant not such a small, dainty little thing.
