Queen Regina of the Akamas walks the waves at the entrance of the harbour of Laatsi, Cyprus. I made her stand out by draining her of colour and then front lighting her. I then drained the sides of the photo to further put her in the spotlight.

The dramatic movement of the Canada goose was in a fairly dark spot in the original photo. I lit up the whole photo and made the silvery water effects stand out more. As an added bonus I discovered that the goose was actually dancing before the King of the Lake watching benevolently from the shore. A dramatic performance..
Not much too see from this cormorant diving into the river Neckar. I tried (not too successfully, I might add) to enhance the commotion on the water surface to dramatise the shot.
And as a testimonial to the current season a photo with frozen water – almost horizontally “falling” snow. The drama lies almost exclusively in the colour red. I tried to make everything but the jacket black and white but it dulled the slightly blueish tint of the snow.

Hi Eklastic. I’ve heard about people who love cold weather….:) 🙂 I really enjoyed the drama in your collection. Good editing on them. That first shot is really well-done. I like the “fade out” look.

I love the cormorant and the pop of red in the last shot. What editing app do you use?

Thank you, Janet. I’m usually lazy and use my standard photoscape programme. It’s a freeware programme and is way less complicated than photoshop for example (also because it has less possibilties but enough for me most of the time)-
