The Rodensteiner was a knight who lived on his castle, Burg Rodenstein in the Odenwald. He killed his wife and unborn child by accident when he wanted to go off to a petty war against his neighbour. Since then he has been cursed to ride with his cohort on stormy nights to warn people of approaching war. 

I’m not going to investigate!
