We have these narrow stairs in our town called “stairs to hell”.
Come our annual town festival and it is fitted with a slide.
And you can slide down. There are cushions and they are needed. When we were kids we went on this slide in the mornings when it didn’t cost anything and of course, there were no cushions. The festival is in summer and we were scantily clad. The friction burns did not deter us. I still have scars to proof it.

Quite. And the original slide was longer but then it was removed and destroyed (safety concerns, one was afraid that an ambulance couldn’t pass) and after many protests a newer slide was built, shorter and with a horrible bump at the end. But still – it was grand.
