A limes watchtower recreated near Michelstadt im Odenwald.
Another word I’ve learned from the Ragtag Prompt: liminal. I checked it out and I recognised a related word: limes. As in: the borders of the Roman Empire. In the UK it’s called Hadrian’s Wall, same thing. If you were balancing on top of the ramparts were you in a liminal state between Roman civilisation and the barbary beyond? Or the other way round?
It’s almost like being Schrödinger’s cat: alive and dead, in and out, up and down, on the beam and already fallen down.
This is not Schrödinger’s cat, this is our cat, Henry. He is in the liminal state of sitting on the couch and sitting on the floor.
PS: I know that’s not quite what Ernst Schrödinger meant.

Surely Henry is related to Schrödinger’s cat?

He is. And he isn’t. 😉
