This butchery claims that its meat and sausages are always freshly butchered, and that they are hearty, delicious, and tempting. Which might be true and therefore honest self-praise.

Is it honest, though, to put a smiling, content pig in a tempting, even enticing pose lying on a sausage on the sign?

Only a man would think that a smiling animal looking forward to being slaughtered and eaten would make a good advertisement. A woman would think it through and show an image of beautifully presented cooked food.

Sometimes it seems that artists who create an advertising campaign never look at their creation honestly. Why would an animal take delight in its own termination?

Exactly. And then lie seductively on a minced corpse … (I have to stop or I might turn into a vegetarian. 😣 )
