The Witness Disappeared

It was a light and windstill day. Eier or eggs was written in the blue, seemingly innocent sky.

“Here is an egg,” urged the kitchen help. “Take it! Beat it! Use it!

So the egg was cracked and beaten. Its remains were smeared mercilessly over the still warm cookies, according to the directions of the ancient grimoire, containing magic recipes and spells.

It was then that they noticed Gus. He had seen everything. The cracking, the beating, the use of the body. He felt sick, sick to his yolk. What more horrors were to come?

He never got to tell his story. He was apprehended and turned into a devilled egg.

A few pieces of yellow egg shell was all that was left of him.
