I gave you a little flooding of the local maize fields last week – today I passed a bridge over the river Neckar in Heidelberg: more flooding and more serious flooding. Southern parts of Germany are fighting against floods and the water has been coming our way.
During summer these banks of the Neckar are populated with students enjoying the warm weather, sun, and good company.
The tourists usually queue here to go on the ships to see the Heidelberg castle from the river.

It was safe on the bridge. And even down close. But some areas in the south have it bad and I think there were a couple of deaths as well, which is awful.

Goodness, it’s quite the wrong time of year for flooding. Though is there a right time?

May and June seems a “good” time for flooding in Germany (I checked but only quickly).

Gosh, I’ve not seen any news for ages. The last time I looked at German news the Rhein was dry in some sections!
