Two packets of crisps and a beer (a shanty, actually).
Two beers and a packet of crisps.

Three crates of beer (shanty and lager). Unfortunately, I was too slow and could only capture the empties.

Gotta love a shandy on a hot summer’s day. Not that we have any hot days here just now. It’s odd how we have such different names for it: we had to learn to call a shandy panaché in France and clara in Spain.

There are also different names in different areas in Germany: in Hamburg they call it “Alsterwasser” (water of the river Alster), in southern Germany it’s called “Radler” (bicycle rider), and I’ve heard “Mädchenbier” (girly beer – but that is reserved for a mix with wheat bear, sold in small 330ml bottles).

A shandy here is beer and gingerale mixed at the table. I’ve never seen it in bottles before. Thanks for this yummy trio.

You get any kind of “mixery” here in bottles, very popular particularly in summer.
