Ladies and Boys

In the local park, the palace grounds of the Weinheim Schloss, there is an old lady and a modern lady.

The sculpture of Diana, a replica of the Roman goddess of the hunt from the Louvre, was a bit worse for wear so she got some cosmetic surgery a year ago. In winter she showed off her restored beauty by wearing a white cap and shawl when it got cold.

That’s the younger lady standing in the pond, always good for a reflection shot. The sculpture was created by a French artist, Amaryllis Bataille, and people seem to like her. To me she always looks like she stepped straight out of a soft-porn movie.

Much more to my taste is this head of a woman by Jürgen Goertz standing in front of the hospital.

Two youngsters, both part of a fountain. The naked little guy is facing the palace with a goose between his legs while playing with his nipple. The other one also has geese as company around a little fountain called Rosenbrunnen.

And now for something completely different, the abstract sculpture of a fountain in the central shopping district. Instead of stone or bronze like the other sculptures this one is fashioned out of shiny stainless steel.
