The town museum of Wiesloch is built next to the medieval defence tower. The windows are either barred or have striped shutters.

In front is the old water well. The tower is called Dörndl (I couldn’t find an explanation, it just seems to be a name).

That’s a fine tower.

So good Elke. I haven’t seen stripped shutters before.
Thanks for a great windows post 😃

The colour scheme was new to me, too. But red and white striped seems to be the go to for the traditional look. –> https://picturesimperfect2.wordpress.com/2024/07/15/striped-shutters/

Are they all from Germany?

Yes, they are. The landscape one from Königstein, Taunus (that’s close to Frankfurt), the yellow café house is in the Neckar valley, close to Heidelberg. And the one from below is from my hometown (somewhere in between). The houses are built on a steep decline, so that they are even floor level on one side, and and several stories on the other.
