      1. Ahh yes – all the more reason to stick with a schorle. It’s very refreshing. And anybody actually wanting to taste a good wine – a winefestival (with lots of rides and loud music and dancing) is not the place for it anyway. I’ve noticed this year that even in the big tent they were offering alcohol free wine.

      2. I like good wines so the temptation to taste lots is difficult. Hopefully the samples are in tiny cups. The crowds and noise would help limit my staying around

      3. Funny you mention that. The toilet fees are 70 cents. But this year they offer a flat rate (5 €). The flatrate is hilarious enough, but the 5 €!! (I would have to go 8 times to make this worthwhile). BTW: I don’t mind paying the 70 cents. Our American friends find this outrageous – and then come back raving about the cleaniness of the facilities. “And the water for washing the hands is even cool.”

      4. When I was in Croatia and had to use a public toilet. It was 2 Kuna, about 50c Australian, it wasn’t the cleanest and I was given 2 squares of toilet paper 🙄
5 €!! That’s around $3 Australian. Americans like to complain I found when in Europe on holidays.

      5. I wonder if anybody availed themselves of the flatrate! Oh, and btw: first aid, assistance and ambulance services were free 😁 (as is usual in Germany). We tested it. I mean, our friend tested it. It wasn’t too much alcohol in her case (although it often is, unfortunately, at these kind of fests) but the heat in combination with her regular meds (she has been released, I’ve heard, and is fine).
