Stamping Is Better than Branding

Lois (on her blog on pets and prisoners) thought of the stamp (sic!) of “tramp stamp” that women got if they had a tattoo on their lower back. In German that wouldn’t rhyme so they had to think of something else. Since these particular tattoos are mostly symmetrical, we call them “arse antlers”. That also doesn’t rhyme but it names the thing rather than the person who decided decorate themselves with them.

Be that as it may, tattooing is similar to getting a stamp (a non-water soluble one). And there are non-trampy ladies who wear delicate and discreet little tattoos.

And then there are the flamboyant types. When an unobtrusive flamingo just won’t do.

  1. Arse antlers are/were a thing here once using the words tramp stamp became passé.

As a kid we used to get small stamp sized tattoo/transfers with Scanlans? Bubble Gum

Thanks for joining in Elke 😀

      1. That might be the option to go. I have lots of friends who are tattooed and every now and again I thought it would be fun. And then I go to a public pool and I see some awful tattoos and the urge leaves me. — One time I even made it into a tattoo shop and the receptionist or whatever she was and one of the artists there treated me like: “Oh, crap, what does this old lady want in here?” that I never went back.
