A little bit over a week ago I spent a few days in the Black Forest. The northern part is less in altitude than the southern part but at the right spot the view is still impressive. The Rhine flows in the distance and on the other side of it France is beckoning.

And then there is the Black Forest itself. Firs and pines are the most common trees on its hills, with beech trees scattered in between. And you can see trees forever and ever.

But the prompt was “I can see for miles” and a day or two later I could indeed see for many miles. 221.938 miles to be exact if various websites can be believed. That’s 357.175 kilometres for the more scientific minded amongst us.

I really like the shots of those hazy hills and that’s a great capture of the moon
