Yes – but What Does It Mean?

This picture is hanging in the waiting room of my doctor’s. It keeps drawing me in. Why does my doctor show the scene of an orgy to his patients? Or am I watching the wrong movies and reading the wrong books and this is just an abstract of black lines and brown and beige shapes.

I actually am sans clue.

PS: I couldn’t find a signature on the picture. I didn’t even dare to go close enough to see if it is an actual original or a furniture store special (my dentist’s offices has quite a selection of those, a really good one). So apologies to the unknown artist.

  1. You are right Elke. That’s where I went first as well even though it could be a landscape abstract
My dentists waiting room has original paintings by lesser known artists so I guess the extras he buys come to the dentistry.

  2. Well, this sent me down a rabbit hole. I looked at Franz Kempf “The Dreamtime.” Close but no cigar. This will bug me, Elke. Although I might be setting the bar too high and should be looking at the discount dollar bin! 😏

    1. I can see a resemblance to the Franz Kempf piece (I had to look it up – that’s where the internet is wonderful) but, I’m afraid, I still see writhing bodies… We have a chant with one chorister and the rest of us answering: O (O) – R (R) – G (G) – Y (Y) – What does it spell? (Orgy!!!) – What does it take? (Teamwork!!)
