Stacking up Many Layers of Learning

Six Word Saturday

My tags are still broken. Is this a me problem or a wp problem?

  1. Definitely a WP problem, it seems to be something to do with the latest update… sigh! Lots of people all over the globe seem to have the same issue with disappearing tags when typing… 😦

    1. Thanks for the feedback. If it’s a wp problem I can ignore it and just try again in a couple of days. If it were my problem I would have to do something about it … btw: I can still set tags from the drop-down tag list, i.e. the ones I use more often (although this list was not updated in a long time, the order hasn’t changed in at least a year.

I used to be active on one of Germany’s most popular and most reputable advice site. It was originally developed by three students and it worked well, had many features that were unique. Then they sold it (after 15 years they had other projects) and then new people took over and wanted to improve it. Made a total hash of it and it’s as good as dead now. We have word in German for it: verschlimmbessern = making sth worse through trying to make it better. The hybris!

      1. It was easier than adding the badge manually every time. I started when I was annoyed about the ads being very close to the actual post and just adding empty lines didn’t do the trick. So I created templates that added empty lines (by adding white dots, one per line). This was also when I changed my theme because white was easier than to find the correct shade of grey to make the dots invisible. Sounds very arduous now that I type this.

      2. Yes, I have. I’ve got one generic (only lines to create a space between post and ads), one RDP, one FOWC, and about 10 others but only 5 are active because the challenges have ceased or are paused.
