Beauty in Nature

“If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.”
Vincent Van Gogh

If by “natural beauty” is meant unadulterated beauty, this might not be the best display.

I chose to illustrate this wonderful quote from Vincent van Gogh by editing photos “in the style of van Gogh”. I used two differrent programs, both are freeware. Lunapic has two van Gogh modes, one is based on his painting “Starry Night”, the other on one of his self portraits. I also used an ai photo editing program called deepai.

On the left are the original photos. In the middle is lunapic, on the right deepai.

In the last line both edits are made with lunapic, based on the two different van Gogh paintings.

I prefer the starry night (lunapic) edit in the tree silhouette, it’s a pity that I didn’t capture any stars. The sunflower I very much prefer in the deepai edit (but deepai does more than just use the photo, it’s changed it considerably). I didn’t like what deepai did to the mushrooms, the starry night edit seemed not really appropriate more like magic mushrooms but I still like the effect.

I tried one last time for my version of a starry night adding stars by hand. With more time this might be the way to go. What do you think?

Talking about natural beauty I immediately thought of the following Steve Martin quote – but I was at a loss on how to illutrate it without being banned by wordpress but I wouldn’t be me if I completely retracted it.

“I believe that sex is one of the most beautiful, natural, wholesome things that money can buy.”
― Steve Martin

    1. Thanks Brian. I noticed and fixed it (I had a problem with the quote editing. My theme has light grey as default colour and I couldn’t get the main intro outside the quote — and well, but I think I’ve sorted it.)
