I thought I might kick off with some famous geometric forms. I featured this building before. It’s a UNESCO world heritage site, the gatehouse of the Abbey Lorsch, sometime called the King’s Hall. It was built over 1,200 years ago during the Carolingian era.

It is. And it was majorly neglected before it became a UNESCO world heritage site in the early 1990s. Now the whole place (including the church and a few other, younger buildings) is amazing.
