The cast: Medical Officer Leonard Bones McCoy. Captain James T. Kirk. Lieutenant Nyota Uhura. Two extras, Brad and Janet. First Officer Spock.

The story: Uhura, Kirk and Spock land on an unknown planet in the delta quadrant. They get attacked by a humanoid race but they manage to capture the son of the leader and forge an alliance between them and the federation by pretending to let their prince walk the plank. Uhura repeats her famous kiss when she congratulates Kirk on containing his temper.
The story might not be able to compete with anything that Stanislaw Lem has written but it is (fan) fiction.

Well done!

To go where no … where lots of people have gone before! 😁

In the name of fiction, one must go where no man has gone before 😀

The original series was the very best

I’m more of a Picard fan. Possibly because I saw the Original in Germany, i.e. dubbed, and Picard later in English. I could listen to Patrick Stewart’s voice reading anything, really.

Lots of people agree with you but growing up with the original, there is nothing better. The nuances, the tone, the banter between characters. It could never be replicated.

Even with my preference of Captain Picard (Kirk was never my type, I loathed anything he did between TOS and his later parts in Boston Legal etc. where he managed to make fun of himself) I adore the TOS cast (Spock, Uhura, Sulu …). But TNG has Data and Worf and unfortunately also Jeremy Crusher (awful – but again, I love his part in TBBT (The Big Bang Theory), making part of his projected actor persona.

Shatner was typecast as Kirk and unfortunately, it never worked for him in any other series. Viewers always compared him to TOS. He could not break away from it.

Well, he isn’t the greatest of actors (unlike Stewart) but he made it work for him in his eighties.

I think he was great in that role. Seems hopelessly melodramatic in other roles.
