It is said that the location of the Beerfeld Galgen was chosen to let the condemned see the beauty of the world one more time before he left it to make him feel his loss even more.

It is indeed a beautiful place with a commanding view. However, in winter it is a desolate place.

If you had to go that last journey would you have preferred a winter or a summer hanging? Don’t dismiss the question too fast because you don’t consider yourself a criminal. Although there are very few confirmed hangings on that site they could be easy to come by. The last person to be hanged here is said to be a woman who stole a bread and two chicken in 1804.

Autumn is a good choice. Since the gallows stand in Beer-felden how about a wee barrel? (incidentally, I checked the name comes from burri – bauren –> farmer, aka farmfield or farmer’s fields).

Autumns good. I will have been cooped up in a freezing winter cell, I could probably do with the summer sun shining through the bars before I move on to the next life! 😂

The owner of a brewery went to a blokes house to tell his wife that her husband had died, drowned after falling into a big barrel of beer.
The wife asked if he suffered.
The owner said he didn’t think so as he had to get out 3 timed to go to the toilet 😁

What a question, Springtime please, the season of hope and new life, but in this scenario, hoping for a better afterlife to come. Thank you for joining in, Elke
