A Woodsy Encounter

I was in Frankfurt this weekend meeting up with friends. I had taken Wynona along and decided to cycle back a small part of the way (the small part turned into the whole 80km because when I wanted to take the train I was informed by Deutsche Bahn that there would be no trains running south from Frankfurt to where I wanted to go). It was still at the beginning of the journey – and before the downpour – when I came into first a delightful clearing and a bit later I ran into some strange creatures.

I’ve come past these carving before but they seem to have grown in numbers.

A bit further down the path there was this dog, either unfinished or ravaged by time – or so I thought.

Nothing more but a broken tree.

    1. Definitely cheaper. I’m always amazed at fare costs in Germany. One person is cheaper than the car (provided you don’t only calculate petrol but also wear and tear on the car), two people is already cheaper by car. And usually a lot faster. They have this Germany ticket now where you can go anywhere for 58 Euro per month but you are only allowed on regional trains (aka: stops in every little hamlet) .

  1. I love the second photo, it is wonderful, but those sculptures are just incredible. I love going somewhere and finding something that you never expected to see. Fantastic collection for the theme Elke.
