Would that Do for Breakfast?

I’ve maintained that I am not a morning person and all my photos of sunrises have been used. However, when I think of “Aurora” I immediately have a jingle from way back in my ear: “Aurora mit dem Sonnenstern”, a well-known brand of flour with the slogan “Aurora with the sun star”, hence the cake.

  1. It looks like a kugelhopf. The first trip we took to France we cycled along the wine route in Alsace. We discovered the kugelhopf, delicious, and learned that it was always wise to grab one in the morning to have on hand in case we missed the two hour window when local restaurants were serving lunch. When you are cycling it can be a loooong time between breakfast and when the restaurants opened for dinner between 7 and 8 in the evening.

    1. In German it’s called Gugelhupf but I guess you mean the same thing. And YES!! about the French restaurants time. We usually end up buying baguette and cheese in a supermarket.
