This is a typical clinker house built around 100 years ago from our area and are typical for the time, two toned bricks and the windows framed with sandstone. The windows themselves are modern: bland but with very good insulation.
These are other examples, more or less along the same principle, always with contrasting elements, with little or no playful additions.

What’s a clinker house?

“Clinker” are bricks that are made similar to tiles, i.e. they are produced under high heat. They are extremely water resistant and hence walls made of clinker bricks are usually not covered with plaster.

They’re called “Klinker” in German and I was amazed when I first looked them up and found “clinker” in English. But after that I assumed these kind of bricks was well known.
