Every year our drinking group organises a ferry run, i.e. a run where at some point water is crossed by a ferry. It’s been going for 15 years or so. It soon evolved into a Fairy Ferry run and later into a Furry Fairy Ferry run with everybody joining in the fun.
Including naturally furry fairy Golden Showers, the Doodle who is game for everything.
Runners wear as much or as little fairy peraphenalia as they want.
In 2016 Germany was in the grip of the Pokémon graze with people catching pokémon all over the place (some even in churches during services!). On this day I was looking particularly fairy like and some random guy aimed his mobilphone on me and shouted: “I’ve got another one! What’s this one called??!”

It was grand! We were a very small select group (in summer there are hash events all over the place, a few of our group where in Plsen in the Czech Republic, some were in Belgium, some in Switzerland ). It was hot but not really bad but the trail was very steep!
