Yesterday’s unknown lady in red is followed today by a rather wellknown lady in red. In the StarTrek canon the colour red denotes security and engineering. Lieutenant Uhura is the communications officer on board of the original enterprise.
In other sci-fi franchises a red coloured shirt is not as coveted – wearing a red shirt in StarWars might mean sudden death – see GalaxyQuest for more details.

These are much bigger than minikins, they are Playmobil, even bigger than Lego figures. About 7 cm tall.

I love them all three for different reasons. But Galaxy Quest is such a loveletter to fandom of scifi and comic con culture.
