Our Kilometre-stone

Not a milestone, obviously. It happened on Friday.

Wynona came to live me in May 2020. We have since spent 10,000 km together.

On an unimportant aside: Wasn’t it so much more satisfying when we had those little mechanical clickety clack odometers? When the big number came closer and the little plates were all straining with anticipation to flip over and finally they did so with a satisfying little clack?

    1. I didn’t mean bicycle I meant odometres in general, in cars before electronics took over. My b-i-l just bought a new car. It’s like sitting in a starship with several screens and beeping at every turn and the car taking over like keeping a safe distance from the one in front etc.

      1. Oh yes. My mate has one of those new fangled cars. We were on a road trip and he was going straight home after dropping at home. I said I would drive for a while so he could have a sleep before his long drive home.
I managed to drive too close to the edge of the road and the car beeped a warning waking him up and I didn’t even get anywhere near driving off the tar 🙄

  1. Ah, yes, those rolling odometers, and here in the states, they turned over at 99,999. It was an occurrence for several of my cars, all acquired when they were somewhat close to rolling over when I bought them. >grin<
