It’s the seeded head of an arum. The name comes via Latin from the biblical figur of Aaron whose staff sprouted green as a sign that he was chosen by god to be a high priest.

I really like Lords and Ladies, as they’re called here, I have some in the garden and they’re just starting to go to seed, too.

Oh, I like that name, I’ve never heard it. Reminds me of the elven folk.

They get that common name from the plants’ similarity to the respective human genitals, apparently.
