I live in Switzerland, since 58 years, but still understand. Mein Schswiegertochter ist deutsche, so ich kenne die deutsche Bahn auch, aber finde es sehr gut. Ich bin Engländerin. Alles besser als die englishche Version.
Ich kenne die britische Bahn überhaupt nicht. Ich höre nur immer, wie unpünktlich die DB sei. Aber gefühlt ist es sicher schlimmer als tatsächlich. Es ist aber so, dass das Vertrauen verloren ist. Für unsere Fahrt zum Flughafen vor zwei Wochen haben wir uns im Endeffekt entschieden, uns mit dem Auto hinbringen lassen, weil wir Angst hatten, es zeitlich nicht zu schaffen, mit zweimal umsteigen.
I grew up in England, and I still do not understand its ways and means. There are now aboug 10-20 various railways and none of them are co-ordingated. The only one I understand is the London lines.
The only image of an English railway that we Germans have is men with bowler hats sitting in small compartments, reading newspapers, and being non-committal. Some of them have a striking ressemblance to certain Monty Python characters.
