One of the photos is from Munich East cemetry, today very much in the middle of the city. The last graves are from the turn of the last century, so although it’s a quiet respectful place it is not one of fresh grief. It’s used by people looking for a quiet place, to walk, to sit and read or think, to switch off for a short while.
not an answer I was expecting to see, but I is the final quiet place. Ans to visit cemetaries is a time to reflect and quietly remember lives lived

I did have the same thought for a post as well Elke. I love the solitude and quiet of cemeteries

I like the old ones, or at least the old sections. In the newer parts are too many hobby gardeners.

The older sections always have more feeling. The shiny marble doesn’t have the character of the stone ones

That, too. But it usually is just quieter.

I have an infinite love of spending time in a quiet cemetery- so these pictures are all very beautiful to me!

Glad you like them. As I wrote to Brian: it has to be an old cemetry, though, or at least an old section.

A powerful story. Silence often tells it better than we can.

Nothing says quiet like a cemetery does. Excellent.
