No new water this week but a dip into the archive (inspired by last weeks Lens-Artists Challenge). We visited the Plitvice Lakes in Croatia in 2008.

The colour of the lakes in Plitvice can be explained chemically and geologically but I don’t care. I just know it is a stunning colour.

The lakes are fed from waterfalls all around.

The view from one of the surrounding hills.

It’s a wonderful place. Although now, I hear, it’s very controlled. In the hope to ward off too many tourists, I suppose, but also more people and more control.

Yes that is the only issue with beautiful places -too many people want to go there

Unfortunately many other people think so, too. I say “unfortunately” but that is, of course, a very elitist point-of-view.
