Bird parks. There are at least four in the vicinity, probably more.

Ours have slowly but surely been closed diown over the last few years, as the owners conclude they can’t give the kind of environment that;’s needed. These bird parks have been a ‘bit part’ in a larger attraction.

They are mostly run by clubs here, so on a voluntary basis. Part of their finances come from an attached restaurant or café and this way it’s more of an attraction for outings. But the birds are still in cages.
