It’s become normal to see people walking, talking, strolling, alone and together, and looking on their mobile phones. Give them the benefit of the doubt – they might be looking at a map or taking photos – but I suspect they are usually texting or reading or even gaming. An annoying habit!

In this case I wonder if I was more annoyed about them or if he is more annoyed for being caught (on camera).
In German, gambling or texting on a smartphone without break is regionally called “daddeln”. In Darmstadt, from where this license plate is, they understand it.

Most annoying when they don’t look where they are going and then give you a dirty look for not moving over for them. Look up, buddy!!

… and unfortunately catching. Sitting in a tram everybody is looking at their phone (I do, too, I’m usually doing my Italian lessons) but then you go out and you still hold the phone in your hand. …

I don’t usually carry my phone in the street (unless using Google Maps and wondering what to do when it says ‘head east’ …)
