Around here is Nibelung country. The story around the kings residing in Worms is often referenced in the area. There are sculptures by Stefan Tiesing representing various parts of the story dotted all over the Odenwald. This one shows Siegfried slaying the dragon, it stands in the grounds of Lindenfels castle, a ruin dating back to the 11th or 12th century. It is a fitting location as Lindenfels houses the German Dragon Museum.

No, we have bigger Worms here. And in the Nibelung times they even had a lindworm. 😉 Worms is a town on the Rhine, horth of Mannheim, with a large cathedral and a long history.

The only thing the average English person knows about that city is The Diet of Worms of 1521 (cue sniggering).
