St James’ Park in Newcastle

It is actually a football stadium but it opened its doors to rugby for the World Cup in 2015.

I found it quite an impressive structure, for all that it is in the centre of the city.

We saw Scotland v South Africa at the venue and it was a really great experience. Fans were not separated according to whom they were supporting (unlike when there are football matches) and the Scottish fans sitting around us were congratulating us when South Africa played well just because we wore South African shawls.
